After looking for a few hours for information on how this is done, this is my last stop before setting down some money for Add-in Express which advertises simplified add-in creation and lists Publisher as a supported add-in platform. The file has VBA macros that are digitally code signed by a trusted signature. For more information see: Add, remove, or change a trusted location. The file is opened from one of the Trusted Locations registered with the Office application.
How does one start/create a Publisher add-in? I am confident that once I get the start, I will be capable of continuing from there. By default, Office will enable Malware Runtime Scanning for VBA or XLM macros running in Office files. Previous versions include Publisher 2016, Publisher 2013, Publisher 2010, Publisher 2007, and Publisher 2003. It is a one-time purchase that does receive updates. Publisher 2019 is the latest classic version of Publisher. After entering VS2008 and using the New Project Wizard, I was dismayd to find that "Publisher 2007 Add-in" does not appear in the templates under Office>2007. The most up-to-date version of Microsoft Publisher is always available with a Microsoft 365 subscription. I am using Visual Studio 2008 along with Office 2007, and I have a pretty competent level of experience with VB6 and VB.NET (I know enough to at least kluge something together, it will work, but it is by no means elegant). Good evening, I have written gobs of macro code (VBA) into a pretty comprehensive tool and wish to migrate that code (with some heavy editing, most likely) into a Publisher add-in.
